Some big things that have happened over the last 4 months- We braved Disney World with 2 kids, took a trip to the beach, Carson learned to crawl & pull up, we celebrated our 4 year anniversary, Callie played soccer-well she watched her team members play soccer because she hated it, Callie started ballet/tap class, and Carson gave up baby food just in time for Thanksgiving. Here are several pictures from the last few months.
Callie hit a huge growth spurt this summer and officially looks like a little girl. I miss that sweet baby face. It's true that when you have a daughter you have a best friend for life (until she's 13..right?). I love getting her opinion on things and seeing how she views the world. She has went from simply playing with toys to using her imagination to play house and doctor. 3 is a trying, yet amazing age. She's been such a blessing and big helper with her little brother. I never dreamed she could love him so much. This week I picked her up for school for an appointment and left Carson at daycare. When she left the doctor she instantly said "I want to go pick up my brother!" I love the relationship they have and hope they stay best friends.
We are days away from having a walking 9 month old. Carson can stand all by himself for about a minute and took 2 steps yesterday! He is growing up so fast and is into EVERYTHING. "Boys will be boys" doesn't even begin to describe it. If it's dirty or dangerous he is all about it. His first & favorite word is Dada and he sneaks in a few Mamas every once in a while. He is a major Mama's boy and I love every second of it. If he's not in my arms then he's probably sitting at my feet. He's a laid back and happy guy most of the time.
This week at church we talked about contentment and it was the perfect message for us. For those of you that don't already know we are in what feels like an eternal season of waiting. I will be getting off 3rd shift to work as a pediatric pharmacist and we are in the process of buying (if all goes well) a short sale..which there is nothing short about. We could whine and complain about how long everything is taking and trust me..we have done our fair share. Contentment is a lot better option. We have so much to be thankful for. Here's to turning our season of waiting into an eternal season of thanks for all He has blessed us with. Happy Thanksgiving!
