A Season of Thanks

I feel like I have to start every blog with an apology for going so long without posting. I will try to summarize the last 4 months in a short post and I promise (for real this time) to post more often. We have finally mastered life with 2..if there is such a thing. Now that Carson can "play" with Callie life is even more exciting. They keep us laughing and on our toes.

Some big things that have happened over the last 4 months- We braved Disney World with 2 kids, took a trip to the beach, Carson learned to crawl & pull up, we celebrated our 4 year anniversary, Callie played soccer-well she watched her team members play soccer because she hated it, Callie started ballet/tap class, and Carson gave up baby food just in time for Thanksgiving. Here are several pictures from the last few months.

Callie hit a huge growth spurt this summer and officially looks like a little girl. I miss that sweet baby face. It's true that when you have a daughter you have a best friend for life (until she's 13..right?). I love getting her opinion on things and seeing how she views the world. She has went from simply playing with toys to using her imagination to play house and doctor. 3 is a trying, yet amazing age. She's been such a blessing and big helper with her little brother. I never dreamed she could love him so much. This week I picked her up for school for an appointment and left Carson at daycare. When she left the doctor she instantly said "I want to go pick up my brother!" I love the relationship they have and hope they stay best friends.

We are days away from having a walking 9 month old. Carson can stand all by himself for about a minute and took 2 steps yesterday! He is growing up so fast and is into EVERYTHING. "Boys will be boys" doesn't even begin to describe it. If it's dirty or dangerous he is all about it. His first & favorite word is Dada and he sneaks in a few Mamas every once in a while. He is a major Mama's boy and I love every second of it. If he's not in my arms then he's probably sitting at my feet.  He's a laid back and happy guy most of the time.

This week at church we talked about contentment and it was the perfect message for us. For those of you that don't already know we are in what feels like an eternal season of waiting. I will be getting off 3rd shift to work as a pediatric pharmacist and we are in the process of buying (if all goes well) a short sale..which there is nothing short about. We could whine and complain about how long everything is taking and trust me..we have done our fair share. Contentment is a lot better option. We have so much to be thankful for. Here's to turning our season of waiting into an eternal season of thanks for all He has blessed us with. Happy Thanksgiving!

Callie's 3rd & Carson's 1/2 Birthday

This month has been a lot of fun, but it has also been a reminder of just how fast time is flying by. Callie turned 3 last week and Carson was 6 months old yesterday. How is that even possible? I'm not kidding..it feels like just yesterday when she was Carson's age. Here is a little update on them. They both go for check ups Friday (that should be an interesting/exhausting appointment).

Callie: She weighs in at 31 pounds, her favorite place to go is Chick-Fil-A to "buy another book", for now she claims that her best friend is Carson and "I love him" unless "he smells like bad" (poop) or "baby brother is crying", she is sassy as can be, independent, strong willed, and a little hesitant with new things. She started playing soccer this summer and is excited to start ballet lessons "like Peppa pig" next month. She loves Peppa pig, Frozen, and Paw Patrol.

Carson: Big boy weighs in a 18 pounds and has 2 teeth! He eats ALL the time. He loves baby food and had been eyeing big sister's food lately. He can roll, army crawl, rock on all fours, and push himself from laying down to sitting up. It's true when they say the 2nd grows up so much faster then the 1st.

Here are a few pictures from the last month of celebration & fun.

June 2016

It's been 3 months since our last update. Life is CRAZY with 2 kids..and that's an understatement. We are loving life as a family of 4. Since our last update here are some things that have happened: Carson can roll both ways (before 5 months?..he needs to slow down!), we have fought the flu in our house, Aunt Birdie & Uncle Seth got married, Carson now eats baby food (up to 3-4 jars a day..he's a growing boy), Carson had his first ear infection and 4 month shots, Callie had her 1st sleepover and now hosts weekly spaghetti dinner parties, Callie got her haircut, and we celebrated 7 years together. It's amazing just how far life has taken us in 7 short years. It hasn't all been easy by any means, but looking at the 2 blessings we have been given makes us appreciate every moment. Here are a ton of pictures from our last few months. I promise to update more often from now on :)

Thanks for reading! Look for a 5 month update in about a week! We love y'all!
